How to Upload A Picture On Instagram From A Computer
Ways to post pictures to Instagram from a desktop computer browser
Many browsers have a means of allowing you transform the "Customer Representative"-- things that tells a web site what sort of tool you get on. So, even when you're on a laptop or desktop computer, you can fool a web site like Instagram into revealing you the mobile website. That's what we're going to do.
Safari
On Safari, it's very easy. Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced. Check the box at the really bottom that states, "Show Develop menu in menu bar"
Now open up a personal searching home window. Visit Develop > User Agent > Safari - iOS 10 - iPhone. Go to Instagram.com, log in and click the camera button below the screen to publish a photo from your desktop computer.
Chrome
In Chrome, most likely to Instagram.com and sign in. Currently right-click the page > Inspect > click the Tablet icon (top-left). The web page should change to mobile view, where you'll find a camera switch at the end of the screen, which allows you upload a picture from your desktop computer.
Several Instagrammers-- myself included-- fire images on a dSLR camera as well as modify them on their computer system prior to uploading to Instagram. That means having to move the finished photo to a phone (through AirDrop or e-mail), which is cumbersome, at ideal.
This workaround cuts that step out, making dSLR uploads much easier than ever.
